I have had the pleasure of knowing Julie for 25+yrs beginning in CO and most recently in NM. She was a truly amazing person on so many fronts; intelligent, witty, kind, compassionate, thoughtful, athletic, generous, tough, incredibly active, friendly, etc. The list goes on and on. I’ve never known anyone like her and always suspected she may have been a higher level being from another world, sent here to inspire us mere mortals to see more, do more and be better humans. Her many interests, activities and grace under all circumstances, left me in awe and it was honor to spend time with her. She had a way of getting you out of your comfort zone, because she was comfortable everywhere and you couldnt say no to her enthusiasm. She stayed with me briefly in NM before she and Mark had settled and I found myself helping her inject insulin or some medication into a very old Little Bear. Explaining matter of factly it was a two-person, one cat job; she offered me either the IV or restraining the cat. Only Julie could have enlisted me in elder cat care. For someone who didnt like the cold, she spent plenty of time freezing on a chair at Targhee and the surrounding Tetons in her red coat. She must have known her time on earth was limited so she pushed the envelope on living well. I take some comfort in knowing she didnt waste a moment and is likely encouraging some extra-terrestrials to up their game too while inspiring the rest of us to follow her example. Thank you, Julie. You will certainly be missed but always remembered with a deep admiration and love.
